To me, one of the most beautiful things about food is that it can, if you allow it, compel you to truly see where you live. As a full-time professional cook and part-time farmer, my work has necessitated my driving all over NE Ohio, often transitioning from rural family market gardens to big city restaurant kitchens in the course of a single day. And if any one thing comes across in all that driving, it’s that our region of Ohio contains a dizzying amount of diversity nestled right alongside a deep wealth of tradition. It’s that dynamic, between the familiar and the new, that I hope to reflect in my food for Marigold Home Kitchen. 

In the cafe at Marigold Wellness Center, we will aim to handcraft nourishing fare that elicits the comfort of a grandmother’s food while incorporating flavor-forward embellishments. The food will be reflective of the myriad currents flowing through our NE Ohio foodways, drawing upon midwestern, southern, Italian, and Mexican home cooking. 

As a business hub, Marigold attracts guests from all around NE Ohio who we love to cater to in the cafe. But as a working cook, I am also eager to have Marigold Home Kitchen’s food resonate with the immediate Wadsworth community, folding in some unique twists along the way. Whether as a place to grab a breakfast sandwich or burrito on your way to work, a location for a casual lunch meeting, or to pick-up a soup or sandwich for home, I am extremely excited to carve out a larger niche in our surrounding area
